Temple of the Sun Pyramid

The Pyramid of the Sun is a massive structure found in the ancient city of Teotihuacán. The pyramid is 66 metres tall and measures approximately 220 by 230 metres at its base. The enormity of the structure cannot be fully captured in a photograph. It is something that needs to be experienced in person.

The pyramid was built in the year 100 CE by a population of people that archaeologists and historians know very little about. They were a people amongst many others within Mesoamerica that built massive and extensive stone structures throughout southern North America and most of Central America over generations.

It was a truly amazing start to my Central and South American adventure by visiting Teotihuacán.
